A handwoven Lesothan pictorial area rug/wall hanging by Setsoto Design. This wool rug features a southern African pastoral scene in which a goatherd with his/her dog gazes from a cliff in the direction of a range of mountains. Around the goatherd black and white sheep graze in the company of a black horse. The palette is shades of camel and brown, cream, gray, and black. Selvedges are overcast. The rug finishes at the bottom with a netted skirt and fine tan wool warp fringe; the top has six woven tabs for hanging display. A label on the underside reads, in part, "Setsoto Design/Teyateyaneng, Kingdom of Lesotho."
