Very old wooden cross that was used to give last rights to people who were sick and about to pass away. It's a kit with candles and it had a bottle of holy water ( it's evaporated now but still have the bottle) & the original candles that go with it. When it's opened, there are holes on each side to put the candles in when performing one of the last rights ceremonies. Ive heard it called an emergency baptism kit also. Im not sure how old it is, I've been told by family it's late 1800s to early 1900s. It is in excellent shape either way. Another great thing about it is that it is able to be hung on a wall like a picture frame and it is a great place to use to stash small things (especially money). What ever someone chooses to use it for it's a great antique.
