Stunning vintage Satsuma style vase with rich colorful graphic painted on the vase.
It painted Japanese men and woman, mountain and ocean in gold, blue, orange, red, green, white.
The bottom of the vase has intricate gold design, and gold rim at the top of the vase.
Made in Japan stamp at the bottom of the vase
The Satsuma style of pottery dates back to the early 17th century.
Satsuma earthenware were painstakingly painted with thick enamels and gold leaf, often in elaborate decoration and depicting themes directly from the Japanese ethos of legends.
The characteristics of Satsuma ware are rich decorations with gold and polychrome colors on a soft, ivory-colored, crackled glaze.
These are highly sought after by a growing body of collectors all over the world.

Very good condition, with what look like extra white paint above one of the men's head and missing paint at the bottom of the vase, as shown in the last two pictures.
