Rare 1970s Kentucky Fried Chicken promotional apron for barbecued chicken from KFC. Apron has the classic illustration of Kentucky Fried Chicken founder Colonel Harland Sanders along with the text: "Try Our New Colonel Sanders Barbecue Style Chicken," along with the familiar red vertical stripes. Barbecued chicken flopped at KFC and was removed from the menu after a few weeks. Apron is about 20.5" X 30". Front of the apron is made of thick vinyl while the reverse is covered with fabric. The apron is unused, although there are a couple of light spots of surface dirt from 50 years of handling. There are a few creases in the apron left from when it was folded for storage; if shipped, the apron will be sent folded along those creases. Apron was designed for use by KFC employees and was not sold commercially, so it is very difficult to find today, especially in this condition. A great addition to any collection of vintage Kentucky Fried Chicken memorabilia. Thanks for looking!
