The pattern stylized flowers, a.k.a. flower and panel, was first designed and marketed by Challinor Taylor and Co in 1886, later produced by US Glass Co of which the former company merged in the 1890’s. American slag glass became popular in the 1890s and was produced by a number of American companies. This particular pattern came in table sets, water sets and possibly other shapes for utilitarian use. The pattern has alternating double bars with diamond point panels each containing two flowers. The handle is period of the era. The pitcher stands 7 1/4” tall to top of spout rim, 7” spout to back of handle and 3 3/4” diameter base. In good factory original condition. Inside is a manufacturing flaw to the glass as shown. The mold seams have roughess. Some anneal lines and a couple of small chips . These are common aspects of Early American Pattern Glass.
