Vintage KAGE Dollhouse Furniture - Kage Wing Chair with Blue Flowered Upholstery

The Kage Company of Manchester, Connecticut made wooden doll house furniture from 1938 to 1948. It was simply made of solid blocks of wood in 3/4" = 1' scale. The exceptions are the over-stuffed chairs and sofas that are made of wood and cardboard and upholstered in cotton muslin, usually large florals in the style that was popular during the era when the furniture was made.

This wing chair is made in 1:16 scale and measures 3 1/2" tall, 2 1/2" wide at wings and is 1 3/4" deep. Made of cardboard nailed to the wooden base and upholstered in cotton feed sacking in a pattern of red berries, and yellow and white flowers w/ green leaves on a blue background. This design may be a little more refined than the other Kage chairs. The front of the wooden base is exposed and has three horizontal details and sits on 4 'ball' feet.
