“SHY LITTLE CHEYENNE MAID WITH HER DOLL
The dentalia shells used by the Cheyenne Mother to ornament her daughter's and the doll's dresses were traded inland by West Coast tribes. The careful handwork of the Cheyenne people is notably displayed here in this fine and sensitive portrait by L. A. Huffman. The hand colored photograph from which this picture was made is on display at Coffin's Old West Gallery in Miles City, Montana.”
