This 1864 Geneva Swiss Shooting Fest Medal has been graded NGC MS61.
It has been given a variety designation of R-594var and designated as SILVERED. It appears to possibly be the only one of this designation graded by NGC or PCGS of this medal. No other shows on either census that I can find.
I spoke with NGC to seek additional information and was told that they confirmed it to be authentic and a variety of the medal, and that "it seems i have a very interesting collectible on my hands." Unfortunately that was the only additional information they were able to give me.
This piece is a beautiful large 47mm medal with great eye appeal for its 159 years of age on top of being a unique variety.
